The Baltic Way 30 – Tour for Historic Vehicle

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way by organizing a tour for antique vehicles that will follow the historical route of Vilnius-Riga-Tallinn on August 18-20, 2019.

Purpose
To introduce historic vehicle which were being operated during the time of Molotov-Ribbentrop pact (August 23rd, 1939) and The Baltic Way (August 23rd, 1989).
To unite the enthusiasts of historic vehicles of the Baltic countries, to promote their collaboration.
To remember and celebrate one of the most significant and uniting events in the process of restoration of the independence of the Baltic countries.

Participant registration is complete and closed.

Vehicle requirements: the car or motorcycle has to be an original and suitable to use, it has to be 30 years old or older (made before 1990).

August 18th (Sunday)
8.00 – 10.00 Participant antique vehicles parking at Cathedral Square in Vilnius (Cathedral Square 2, Vilnius, LT-01143)
Attention!  On August 18th sporting event (bicycle marathon – Velomarathon) will take place in Vilnius, therefore traffic in the city center and access to the Cathedral Square will be closed. Participants and guests of the Baltic Way event will have access to the Cathedral Square only from 8:00 to 10:00  via the following route only:

10.00 – 12.00 Exhibition of antique cars at the Cathedral Square.
10.00 – 11.00 Commemoration of the Baltic Way at the Cathedral Square. Statements by members of the Lithuanian Parliament, representatives of the Government, leaders of Vilnius Municipality and participants of the Baltic Way.
11.00 – 12.00 Concert at the Cathedral Square.
12.00 Departure of antique cars for the historic Baltic Way route Vilnius-Riga-Tallinn.
For participants of the “Baltic Way 30” event, departure from the Cathedral Square will be reopened only from 12:00 to 13:00. The departure of the participants will be organized with a police escort via the following route: Šventaragio street (T. 14.30 A short stop at Šilagalis by Panevėžys city sign. The police escort will guide the participants to  Panevėžys Cido Arena (Parko 12, Panevezys).

15.30 – 16.00 Antique vehicle parking at the Cido Arena parking lot.
16.00 – 17.30 Exhibition of antique cars at the parking lot of the Cido Arena (Parko 12, Panevezys).
16.00 Commemoration of the Baltic Way at the Cido Arena parking lot. Statements by members of the Lithuanian Parliament, heads of Panevėžys Municipality and participants of the Baltic Way.
17.00 Dinner for registered participants.
17.00 Concert at the Cido Arena parking lot.
17.30 Departure of antique vehicles for the historic route of the Baltic Way Vilnius-Riga-Tallinn.
18.00 Short stop at Pasvalys.
19.00 Departure of antique cars from Pasvalys.
21.00 Arrival of antique cars to Riga.
21.30-23.00 Arriving to Riga Motor Museum (parking near the museum – Sergey Eizenštein st. 8, Riga, LV-1079, Latvia).
The distance from VILNIUS (Cathedral Square) – PANEVEZYS – PASVALYS – Bauska – Iecava – Kekava – RIGA – 320 km.

August 19th (Monday)
Route: RIGA – Vangazi – Sigulda – Ligatne – Drabesi – CESIS – Lode – VALMIERA – Lizdeni – Renceni – Oleri – Rujiena – Koni – LILLI – Karksi – Nuia – VILJANDI. The distance is 220 km.
09.30 – 10.00 Gathering at Riga Motor Museum
10.00 – 10.30 Trip from Riga Motor Museum to Riga downtown.
10.30 – 12.00 Exhibition of vintage cars in the center of Riga, commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way.
12.00 – 13.45 Trip from Riga to Cesis
13.45 – 14.00 Gathering near Cesis
14.00 – 14.30 Parade ride to Cesis center
14.30 – 16.30 Exhibition and lunch in Cesis
16.30 – 17.00 Trip from Cesis to Valmiera
17.30 – 20.00 Trip from Valmiera to Viljandi (short stops in Valmiera and Lilli border station)
20.00 – 22.00 Exhibition and concert in Viljandi, Market Square

August 20th (Thuesday)
Route: VILJANDI – Särevere – TÜRI – Käru – Rapla – TALLINN (Toompea ja Seaplane Harbour. The distance is 160 km. After party in LAITSE RallyPark – extra 40 km.
09.00 – 10.00 Gathering on the Market Square of Viljandi
10.00 – 12.00 Exhibition and speeches in Viljandi
12.00 – 13.00 Trip from Viljandi to Türi (short stop in Särevere, at the memorial stone of the Baltic Way)
13.00 – 15.00 Exhibition and lunch in Türi
15.00 – 17.00 Trip from Türi to Tallinn (short stops in Käru at the memorial stone of the Baltic Way, in Rapla and in Tallinn, Toompea)
17.00 – 19.00 Exhibition and speeches in Tallinn, Seaplane Harbour (visiting the museum of Seaplane Harbour)
19.00 – 20.00 Trip from Tallinn to Laitse RallyPark (extra 40 km.)
21.00 – 01.00  Final event. Concert of Apelsin band

We are all part of a historic event which is organized by the clubs of historic vehicles of all free Baltic countries. The event will be as great as we all make it to be. Take it as Your own party and give Your contribution to its success!
