Classic Cars Adorn Biržai

So far, Biržai has been the most famous for ancient castles, manors and deep brewing traditions. But in recent years, this Highland city can rightfully be called the Lithuanian capital of classic cars. Here, every summer, an abundance of historical technical enthusiasts gather for the traditional feast of “Timeless Classic”.

In early August, there was held an event where Biržai streets were filled with convoy of 83 historic vehicles, which were driven by the participants not only from Lithuania, but also from Belarus, Latvia and Russia. Although, according Lithuanian law, a historical vehicle may become a car produced 30 years or more ago, “Timeless Classic 2015” organizers decided to allow participate only 40 years ago or even earlier manufactured machines.
“Not only Biržai citizens gather here, but also guests from other cities, because it is the best of historic vehicles event in Lithuania. The audience has been already pampered because every time we try to surprise. In addition, participants are offered a diverse program with excursions, dances, songs, classical music and local cuisine presentation”, said

The Antique Vehicle Caravan Visits the Citizens of Kupiškis

An article is published in the biggest auto-lovers portal in Lithuania – “Automanas” (“Automaniac”)

When the sun is shining outside, the Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika” is becoming one of the most active clubs in Lithuania. It was founded in 2008 and the club members do not miss an opportunity to show to all Lithuanian citizens, that in our country there is no shortage of enthusiasts who have a weakness for old, in car history books described cars.

Last weekend (July 11th), a large number of Club “Klasika” members went to Kupiškis to take place in the traditional festival “Lingaudala”. Town guests and residents were able to enjoy not only “Lingaudala” festival generated sounds, but also to admire the Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika” members

Five years old “Klasika” – a short, but serious time!

During this year’s Biržai town Festival, a few dates were going around in the information space – 80 years of S. Darius and S. Girėnas flight across the Atlantic, 45 years of Biržai AirClub and 5 years of antique vehicles club “Klasika”. As said club director Egidijus Einoris, organized the first of the old automobiles “drive” on 16th of August 2008, now it was decided to commemorate the club’s five-year-old birthday.

Klementas Sakalauskas, Panevezys district Honorary Citizen

 Klementas Sakalauskas was awarded as an honorary citizen of Panevėžys district on 15 February, 2013. He is a well known collector, museum professional, public figure, member of Club “Klasika”.
The regalia of Panevežys district honorary citizen are traditionally served on the municipal Council meeting, which is held annually to honour Lithuania’s Independence. This year, the celebratory meeting of the Council and commemoration of February 16th was held in Piniavos school-kindergarten.
Panevežys district honorary citizen has been elected since 2004. The title is given a person to honour his outstanding service, the unique contribution to Panevezys district science, education, culture, sports, economics, social development, national defense and other areas, for promotion of Panevezys district in the country and worldwide.

Having Found El Dorado!

A car is not a luxury item, but means of transport. This statement made by the great Ostap Bender, which later became a winged phrase, was never implemented by the Soviet government during the entire time of its existence.  With great difficulty having saved a bunch of Roubles and having waited patiently in the line for his time to buy a car, an average Soviet citizen used to get a miserable Moskvich or a “Lada”, a car hatched from the Italian Fiat 124 model. A man basically knew that he acquired a joy and a misery (if not for the rest of his life, at least for the next twenty years), and that it would be easier to change his wife than the old tires to the new ones without having acquaintances in the right post.After Lithuania escaped from the Soviet regime, a tsunami of used cars from the West overwhelmed our homeland. After twenty years of independence, a Moskvich or a Zaporozhets that one might occasionally encounter on the road, became quite a unique experience.

Panevezys District Municipality rewards Klementas Sakalauskas with an Honorary Title


Nobleman Klementas Sakalauskas, a known collector and public figure, became the ninth person to receive Panevezys Distict Municipality’s Citizen of Honor title. It is pleasant news that his works – which are always accompanied by honesty, honor, belief and love – are not forgotten and rewarded. We congratulate our friend and “Klasika’s” member with this great achievement. Good luck, good health, and more great moments for You, Klementas! The Flag of Birzai was fluttering in Kernave

During July 8-10 in Kernave, the ancient capital of Lithuania, the 13th festival of “Days of Live Archaeology” took place. As part of this festival on July 9, there was an antique vehicles exhibition, which was organized by the antique vehicles club “Klasika” together with Sirvintai classic vehicles admirers and friends from all areas of Lithuania and Latvia.

First, residents of Birzai and their friends cheered people of Sirvintos. From an early morning on July 9th, an antique vehicles exhibition, a march through the streets of Sirvintos, and, finally, a trip through Musninkai towards Kernave took place.

In Sirvintos, a crowd of people gathered to see vehicles of an early and middle 20th century. Many wanted to see Antanas Nedzinskas’s, who is a member of Lithuanian Parliament, well-known bus, which he parks next to luxurious Parliament members’ cars. In addition, together with members of ,,Klasika”, appeared Virginijus Martisauskas – “Krasto naujienos” editor-in-chief, also known from TV shows about road traffic.

With “Klasika”, to Lithuania’s first capital

The trip with “Klasika” to Lithuania’s first capital Kernave starts earlier than the trip itself. Egidijus Einoris, the president of “Klasika,”who vacations in Lithuania, residing in the U.S., and spends most of his time vacationing on “Klasika,” suggests to hold a classic automobile photography contest. The winner would recieve an untraditional prize – travel with “Klasika” to Kernave to the traditional live archeology days, where “Klasika” of Birzai will be organizing a classic automobile parade in Sirvintai and Kernave. .
