On Saturday, May 5th, everyone somewhat understandable or faithful to the wheeled antique technique, rushed to Pasvalys. This year, for the tenth time in Pasvalys the event, which is popularly called the opening of the Lithuanian antique technique season, has gathered a huge crowd of wheeled exhibits and thousands of spectators.
Spring is just about to come: the first spring flowers have blossomed out, the greenness of the trees and meadows is becoming more and more vivid every day. The weather does not always appeal to the heat-hungry, and the last Saturday in April was quite cloudy and windy. But for the people who are determined and have a goal, the weather is not an obstacle. On April 28th, the Club “Klasika” members with families and friends gathered at Sodeliškis Manor, where the opening of the new club season took place.
The more and more often we notice that in the mad day race we usually do not go along with our work and worries. Time catches and overtakes us… Maybe only when the New Year changes for the year, we stop, take a moment and look back calmly. Such a step, which has already become the tradition of the Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika”, has been repeated for almost a decade. In Latvia, like in Lithuania, two interesting events of antique technique take place. If our antique vehicle meeting “Timeless Classic” matches the solidity of “Riga Retro”, then the “Retro Jurmala” event in its free spirit – with Pasvalys “We drive”. Maybe we should not compare Pasvalys with Jurmala, but both events are definitely somehow similar. Maybe it’s playful on the Soviet theme; maybe both of them look forgiving at the vehicle age and the rules of participation. Or maybe because of the fact that it is always interesting to go there and participate in…

It has become just regular that the discussion of the results of antique vehicles “Timeless Classic” festivals and summer meetings of club “Klasika” members are held annually in the Klementas Sakalauskas’ museum. Moreover, Mr.Klementas and his son Gintautas have been members of the club “Klasika” for several years now. So, on Friday, August 25, the members of the Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika” gathered in Panevėžys. The cozy, relaxed atmosphere of the antiquity and the hospitable Sakalauskai family bring together the “Klasika” members to interesting conversations and discussions every year.
