On the 6th of August, the International Antique Car Show “Timeless Classic 2016” was held in Biržai. For the ninth time already, nine years in succession, these Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika” celebrations have to be described as – the event took place and succeeded! It is unfortunate that the drizzle and rain did not allow to show all that organizers had an idea. However, thanks to the patient participants, a large gathering of spectators and hardworking Club “Klasika” members!

Well, now – a little bit of Antique Car Show… The vehicles were many and varied. Surely it was possible to enjoy the spectacle, to talk to one or another antique technology expert, take a picture with the ladies and gentlemen dressed by the beginning of the 20th century, to taste “Klasika” porridge cooked here. Eye-catching were not only cars, but also three tractors (1932 Fordson F; 1938 Fordson N; 1935 John Deere), which took turns to chuff and delight the audience. There were some motorcycles, among which Douglas EW 350, made in 1927, stood out with its age. Well, a double-decker bus Bristol, made in 1956, from trading town “Urmas”, this time was used as a Club “Klasika” stage. From here, it was possible to get the interesting information about exhibition, listen to the songs performed by Jūrate Garnelienė and Gytis Balčiūnas, to find out one or another exhibit development history.

As this year joked one of the participants in the event, writer Jurij Grozmani from Russia, that if the exhibition involves at least one car Horch, the event can already be considered as success. So, this time, Horch 853, made in 1937, from Latvia, triumphed in the Antique Car Show “Timeless Classic 2016”. This car and its owner Janis Oskerko won the main (Grand Prix) prize. Except this honorable prize, there were awarded six other nominations.
The Oldest Car – Nash Touring 681-7, made in 1922, driven to the event by Gintautas Miškinis (Lithuania).
The Best Antique Car (before 1946) was elected the Buick 116 mod. 29-2, made in 1929. Owner – Gunars Dortans (Latvia).
The Best Classic Car (after 1946) name has earned Cadillac De Ville Hardtop Coupe, made in 1959. Owner – Arno Anier (Estonia).
As the Best Soviet Car was recognized a rare Rein Lume’ (Estonia) Moskvich 430, made in 1958.
The Most Beautiful Car was elected Aero Sport 30, made in 1937. Owner – Raivo Hannus (Estonia).
A title of the Best Restored Car won Gaz 21, made in 1962. Owner – Edgars Cielovs (Latvia).
