Seeing off the Old Year… Happy New Year!

Category:Events,Events 2011,Articles

The Antique Vehicle Club „Klasika” began its season on May 28, 2011. The Club accepted an invitation to take part in a land-rover marathon „4×4 Perimeter” festival which took place in Pačeriaukštė Village (Biržai District). Members of the Club exhibited their vehicles in the sports field of P. Poškus High School. Historic vehicles were admired by a large number of spectators and marathon participants.

Our Club’s next events were shows in Širvintos and Kernavė. Last year, our friends in Širvintos offered us to arrange an exhibit in Kernavė. After a short deliberation, we accepted the invitation. We called our event „With ,Klasika’ – to Kernavė!“

A Partnership and Sponsoring Agreement Signed

Category:Events 2011,Library,Articles

It’s been four years since the antique car club “Klasika” has existed, all thanks to its good-willed sponsors. The club’s events and actions are planned and evaluated keeping the funders’ support and generosity in mind. It’s nice that the sponsors’ help is expanding as well as their quantity. This means that the antique car shows in Lithuania will be even grander and more beautiful, that more than one historically valuable object will have a new life. It’s wonderful that the club “Klasika” is recognized beyond Lithuania. It was pleasant to receive an unexpected and heartfelt partnership offer that came all the way from across the Atlantic.

,,Grand Dukes”

On October 22nd, the “Grand Dukes Restaurant and Deli” president Andrius Bučas and the Antique Car Club “Klasika” director Egidijus Einoris heartily shook hands, having made the deal of partnership and the sponsoring of “Klasika”.

A Saturday in Kirkilai with „Klasika” and Biržai Theatre

Category:Events,Events 2011

Saturday, July 23rd was not a typical day in the calendar of the antique automobile club „Klasika”. After we visited several more remote towns, it dawned on us, that next to the town of Biržai, there was this „grand” village of Kirkilai. And it’s not some average village too. It even has its own coat of arms that was officially approved by the President of Lithuania.

The members of „Klasika” club came together, drove for a little while on the streets of Biržai demonstrating antique cars in the Janonis Square, and then turned towards the Kirkilai Village. The dirt road took them past several lakes and everyone was able to enjoy the views that are characteristic to Biržai Region only. Club members walked on a wooden bridge leading to an isle in one of the lakes, admired some cat’s-tails, and picked some raspberries.

The trip with “Klasika” to Lithuania’s first capital Kernave starts earlier than the trip itself. Egidijus Einoris, the president of “Klasika,”who vacations in Lithuania, residing in the U.S., and spends most of his time vacationing on “Klasika,” suggests to hold a classic automobile photography contest. The winner would recieve an untraditional prize – travel with “Klasika” to Kernave to the traditional live archeology days, where “Klasika” of Birzai will be organizing a classic automobile parade in Sirvintai and Kernave. .

The antique cars club “Klasika” officially opened its exhibition season

Category:Events,Events 2011

On May 28, the antique cars club “Klasika” officially opened its exhibition season. The club accepted an invitation from the “4×4 perimeter” cross-country off-road vehicles marathon to come to the festival in Paceriaukste (district of Birzai).
At 15:00, Klasika’s members gathered in their antique cars near city’s municipality. Half an hour later, 17 antique cars and 7 motorcycles, led by a soviet-times GAI police equipage, drove out to the main street and headed towards Paceriaukste. The viewers were dressed in their nicest clothes and met us in ovations at P. Poskus School’s playfield. While driving in a circle of honor, commentator E. Malinauskas introduced all exhibits and equipages. He stated that antique vehicles remind us of historical events and decorate our modern lives. And the 21st Volga – a prestigious XX century antique vehicle!
